This Berber anklet is Algerian from the early part of the twentieth century and is locally called redif. It is made of thick silver wires wound around each other. The finials are two disks that could be peacock feathers. which come together with a hook and eye clasp. The anklet is big and could be thought of as a choker, but it really is a single anklet. In good vintage condition and tests as good silver.

• The inner diameter is 10.5 cm or 4 1/2 inches.
• The inner circumference is 33 cm or 13".
• The width is 1 cm or 3/8 inches.
• Weight is 78 grams.

 The version with snake heads instead of flat disks is illustrated in Paul Eudel's book "Dictionnaire des bijoux de l'Afrique du Nord."
